For experienced actors: Experienced actors are actors who have completed a three year acting degree course or have had three years professional work.
This is a text based comedy workshop where you will look at exploring vocal delivery, timing, pacing and the effect of character and style and where to find humour in the text.
Bio of host: Darren Gilshenan
Darren Graduated from the NIDA Acting course in 1988. Since he has worked extensively as an Actor and Director for all the state theatre companies of Australia. He has performed with Bell Shakespeare in seventeen productions, and over the past couple of years seven productions with the Sydney Theatre Company. His TV credits include : A Moody Christmas, Chandon pictures, Janet King and Top of the Lake, Full Frontal and Derrick. He recently appeared in the cricket movie Save your Legs. And the about to be released The Outlaw Michael Howe. As a Trainer/Teacher he has facilitated workshops and courses with NIDA, Bell Shakespeare, Sydney Theatre Company and a number of training institutions such as Impro Australia, Brent Street, Newtown performing arts, Mc Donald College and Many Schools. He also teaches for the NIDA open programme and part-time with SAAG film Course. Darren received a Helpmann award for Best actor for his role as Truffaldino in The Servant of Two Masters in 2005.
