Event description:

Join Damien Garvey for a discussion on the business of being an actor. Damien believes that being an actor is similar to running a small business. For him, managing that small business efficiently and effectively, has been the foundation for creating his long term career, and increasing his confidence as a performer. Damien will share some of the strategies that have helped him over the years, and will answer any questions you have on the broader subject of acting.

Bio of host:
Damien has just wrapped the first two episodes of the Starz Network’s new TV Series Ash Vs Evil Dead starring Bruce Campbell and directed by Sam Raimi. Damien’s television and film credits include: Rake (Series 2 and 3), The Killing Field, the Jack Irish series, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, Secrets and Lies, Terra Nova, The Gods of Wheat Street, Mabo, and Underbelly: The Golden Mile (for which he won an AFI Award.) Feature film credits include P.J Hogan’s Mental, Manny Lewis, Daybreakers, Lou, Beauty and the Beast, The Fear of Darkness and the Drive Hard with John Cusack. Damien will next be seen in the 8 part series The Kettering Incident produced for Foxtel and BBC Worldwide, which will screen in August. He is also soon to reprise his roles in Rake (Series 4), and 6 new episodes of Jack Irish, both filming later this year.
