Event description:

A terrific opportunity to join one of Australia’s leading casting directors, Christine King, for a full day working on your casting skills. Up to 18 Equity financial members will work intensively with Christine. Each attendee will have a quick read through, then record a take and then review the footage and discuss the performance. All participants will be able to observe this process.

Bio of Host:

 

Christine King's Australian credits include such iconic Australian films as NED KELLY, TWO HANDS, RABBIT PROOF FENCE and RED DOG.   Recently cast features include BLUE DOG (prequel to RED DOG), KILL ME THREE TIMES, and THE DRESSMAKER.

She has worked on many international features filmed in Australia including THE QUIET AMERICAN, MOULIN ROUGE, STAR WARS: EPISODE 3, FOOL’S GOLD,  GHOSTRIDER, WOLVERINE, THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: VOYAGE OF THE DAWN TREADER and DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK.

She is also regularly engaged as a consultant on international projects filming outside Australia, and has covered casting in Australia and New Zealand during pilot season for most of the major US networks.

She is currently casting the features HARD TARGET 2 for NBC Universal, and A FEW LESS MEN (sequel to A FEW BEST MEN).

Last year she was invited to become a member of the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and can now vote for the Oscars!

Christine has also cast hundreds of hours of television for international as well as local networks, and is a member of the American Television Academy.  

She won both an Emmy and a CSA Artios award for her work on THE PACIFIC.  

Recent television credits include THE CODE and HIDING for the ABC, NOT THE BOY NEXT DOOR (Peter Allen biopic), and the first series of MARCO POLO for Netflix.

She is currently working on the second series of MARCO POLO, and the second series of THE CODE.
