Event description:

This is a workshop geared towards the experienced actor who would like some assistance on what’s required by casting agents when submitting a self test. Nicholas Coghlan, actor and teacher will work through all the technical requirements and processes involved in putting down one's own test.

Successful applicants can bring their own laptop/camera/phone so they can be guided through all the steps from recording to sending their test off. If you don’t have any devices to record then you can observe the process.

Bio of host:
Nicholas graduated from NIDA with a BDA, Acting, in 2002 and holds a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. As an actor he has worked extensively in film, TV and theatre both here in Australia and internationally. He has been teaching performance for over a decade, and is widely regarded as one of Australia’s foremost acting coaches. Over the past decade, he has taught performance methodology and approach to performance for NIDA, NIDA Corporate, Victorian College of the Arts, and is currently the senior acting tutor at The National Theatre Drama School. Nicholas is also a writer, director, and producer and creates film and live performance works with The Public Studio and Find and Replace Films. He was the co-founder of Melbourne’s first self-testing service, The Screen Testing Studio.
