Event description:

During this two hour workshop Abbe will give you scripts to work on and will listen and assist with your technique together with giving advice about how to get into the voiceover industry.

Bio of host
Abbe is one of the most experienced and listened-to voice actors in Australia. Known for her range, from fresh, youthful vibrancy, to warm or authoritative corporate style and her versatility with character voices. She’s the regular voice for Spotlight Stores and Red Energy, a regular voice for Chemist Warehouse and Garnier. She voices the nominations for Logie Awards and works solidly as a corporate narrator. Her work in animation includes ‘The Flamin’ Thongs’, ‘Li’l Monsters’, ‘Li’l Elvis and The Truckstoppers’ and ‘Little Johnny, The Movie’. She was also the voice of ‘Plasmo’. Recent on-screen work has included guest roles in ‘Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries,’ ‘Laid’, the short films ‘Slow Cooker’ and ‘Copy Cat from Ballarat’ (2016 St Kilda Film Festival) ‘Neighbours’ and principal cast in the recently shot web series, ‘Luck Be a Lady’. She’s been involved with Equity since the 1980’s, mostly in the area of voiceover where she’s worked to set rates and conditions in the voiceover industry. She is currently Victorian President of Actors Equity and a member of the National Performers Committee.
