At this Equity Masterclass with voice/dialect coach Anna McCrossin-Owen, attendees will learn how to connect their US accent to text, speech, thoughts and feelings. This masterclass is for actors confident with their US accent.
Bio of Host: Anna McCrossin-Owen
Anna McCrossin-Owen is a Voice in Performance Coach specialising in voice technique, text skills, & dialects in performance. She works internationally in film (The Road) and television (Disney Europe) & Pan Am (Sony Pictures, American Broadcasting Corporation). Numerous students currently work in the US, UK and Canada, Anna works locally in theatre (including a long standing relationship with Melbourne Theatre Company), television, film, music theatre, animation as well as training journalists in the presentation of on-line news. She is currently teacher of Voice at the Victorian College of the Arts, School of Drama. A graduate of VCA herself, Acting credits since 1985 include The Bank, Blue Heelers, Holly's Heroes, Scooter Secret Agent, Neighbours, A Fortunate Life with Harvest Theatre, Room to Move with Playbox/TheatreWorks, Axes Edge with Going Through Stages, commercial musicals and plays, voice overs, improvisation and singing with bands. As a Director credits include- Much Ado About Nothing, Romeo & Juliet & A Comedy of Errors for Essential Theatre's national winery tours, Romeo & Juliet for Bravehearts at Australian Shakespeare Company, inthecompanyofpleasure's A Trilogy of Revolution for Melbourne Festival 2002 and many solo, community, opera and musical projects. Currently she is Drama Coach on a 13 part ABC TV series. Recent projects as Voice/Dialect Coach include- 3 soon to be released ABC tele-movies/series, a US Television series filmed in Toronto, a film in London, Matching Jack, Love Never Dies, Grey Gardens, His Girl Friday at MTC, School for Wives with Bell Shakespeare and coaching at her private studio. Anna has recently been honoured by the Victorian Green Room Association with a special award for 'Outstanding Contribution to the Melbourne Stage'
