Storyville Training

We have just added a number of Sydney schools for Storyville and are now looking for more volunteer readers. If the thought of reading fun books to a group of giggling children sounds like fun and if you can commit to an hour a week for a school term, we would love you to join the program!

The training day is a casual get together where we will go over how the program works and practice our read-aloud skills.

Jack Matthews video

"I relish the chance every week to read to the kids and encourage them to engage with language and their own imaginations! If it helps even one of them to develop a deep love of reading stories then I'd say that's time very well spent!"
- Ben Clements, St Brendan's Primary School, Victoria

"I just love being a part of this because the kids who are engaged are really there with every word. I even have one little girl who is reading over my shoulder, and another who manages to find a spot right by my feet. They are beautiful children who sadly don't have all the opportunities as kids at other wealthier schools in less tough areas."
- Anne Cordiner, Gagebrook Primary, Tasmania
