Intimidated with the thought of self taping? Not at all sure what to do? This will be a chance for actors who aren’t familiar with the self test process to get some clarity: This will be a presentation/ lecture style workshop and you will have plenty of time for questions.
Emily will cover:
-Self Taping from home: how to shoot and upload auditions on your phone;
-The Equity Self Test studio: instructions on how to book in, when it's available and how to use it;
-Audition Technique and Mindset; making the most of your audition, industry expectations, common mistakes and what most successful actors do when taping with practical examples: Viewing and reviewing examples of actors' self tapes plus Q and A.

Bio of host:
Emily Joy is the owner of Joy Studio – a boutique screen acting studio in Melbourne. Her actors have secured countless roles for major film and television projects including Lifetime's American Princess, Netflix's The Society, and in Australia: Les Norton, The Heights, Picnic At Hanging Rock, Romper Stomper, Angel of Mine, The Cry, Upgrade, and more. Emily has taught at the University of Canberra and Dan Hamill Performance Coaching as well as worked as a casting assistant for Greg Apps. Emily studied at NIDA Young Actors Studio and has an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts from Southbank Institute of Technology (Now University of Canberra). As an actor, her recent screen credits include Neighbours, Tonightly With Tom Ballard and The Housemate.
