Scott Williams will lead a one-day workshop for experienced actors in the techniques of performance created by Sanford Meisner. In a fast-paced, intensive day, you’ll explore in depth Meisner’s techniques for Living Truthfully Under a Given Set of Circumstances. How will it work? You’ll have the chance to practice and be guided through a few simple and powerful exercises which focus on Meisner’s concepts that what happens to the actor depends on what the other person does. This “pinch-and-ouch” approach is the heart of what we mean by living truthfully. What do you get out of it? You’ll gain an insight into a profound and powerful new way of approaching acting, and you’ll take away tools you can use on your very next job. Scott Williams trained with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, and has been teaching these techniques for 40 years at his London-based home, The Impulse Company, and all over the world.
