2014 Equity Ensemble Awards - Winners Announced!

Three ensemble television casts have been selected from an impressive field to take out the 2014 Equity Ensemble Awards.

It was the performances in the second series of ABC drama Redfern Now, miniseries Top of the Lake and comedy Upper Middle Bogan that most impressed Australian actors.

The Equity Ensemble Awards were introduced in 2011 to honour excellent performances by Australian television ensembles.

In the lead up to these awards, all Australian performers are invited to vote for their favourite television casts in the following categories:

•The Equity Award for an Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in Comedy Series
 Submit your vote here.

•The Equity Award for an Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series
 Submit your vote here.

•The Equity Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Mini-Series or Telemovie
 Submit your vote here.

Voting closes on midnight on Thursday April 24, 2014. Winners will be announced Monday, April 28 and a gala ceremony will be held in May.

The Equity Foundation is thrilled to invite Equity members to an In Conversation with actor, dancer, singer, choreographer and director Nancye Hayes OAM.

Join Equity president Simon Burke in the interview chair as he hosts this performer to performer discussion and find out just what makes this most legendary of performer tick.

The In Conversation has been scheduled to coincide with the upcoming production of Sweet Charity which Nancye starred in early in her career. It will take place at the newly created Hayes Theatre which has been named in her honour.

Elizabeth Kemp was one of the youngest members to be admitted to The Actors Studio and has been fortunate to learn from many masters including Lee Strasberg, Elia Kazan, Arthur Penn and Ellen Burstyn.
