The Equity Foundation is delighted to announce that Sydney-based NIDA graduate JK Kazzi is the winner of the 2024 Bunya Graduate Internship.

JK will spend a week on the set of Bunya Production’s highly anticipated new TV series in Western Australia later this year.

JK was selected by an independent judging panel from more than 150 impressive graduates from across Australia. This year’s finalists included Ruby May Henaway, Alex Kirwin, JK Kazzi, Jack Mitsch and Mads Lou.

Bunya’s Greer Simpkin says: “The applicants for this internship showcased the incredible array of emerging talent we have in Australia. Watching everyone’s auditions was an absolute pleasure and we were spoiled for choice. We would particularly like to commend our top five finalists. It was a tough decision, but JK Kazzi stood out with his captivating and dynamic performance, and we eagerly look forward to welcoming him to the set later this year.”

Of being selected for the internship, Equity member JK says: “I applied for the Bunya Equity Graduate Internship as I thought the exposure to a working set environment would be a valuable way to learn from experienced professionals on one of Australia’s most iconic productions. I’m very grateful to receive this internship as it is a unique opportunity to meet other passionate artists and witness original Australian content of the highest quality being produced.”

This paid internship is made possible with the generous support of Media Super. JK will receive return flights and accommodation for the duration of the internship. He will also be paid at the appropriate award rate.
