Join award winning Australian actor and voiceover artist Melanie Zanetti, or as she is better known  as "Chilli" in Bluey, as she talks to Veronica Neave about her creative journey moving between voiceover, feature film and television in Australia and the US, shares what it is like to work on one of Australia's most successful shows as a voiceover artist and her advice or diversifying your skills so you can work in many different areas locally and internationally.   • Melanie Zanetti

    Melanie Zanetti, is an award winning actress who divides her time between Australia and the United States. Melanie voices the role of Chilli, in the internationally successful, Emmy, BAFTA and five time AACTA award winning animated series, Bluey. It is the number one children’s show in Australia and a giant hit globally, making every ‘best of’ list since it premiered and consistently being one of the most watched TV series on Disney+. Melanie began her career in theatre and has played many iconic roles such as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion at Queensland Theatre as well as Catherine in Wuthering Heights and many, many more since she graduated from USQ with a Bachelor of Theatre Arts (Acting) in 2007. Melanie’s most recent feature films include Head Count (2023) Raven’s Hollow (2022) Gabriel’s Rapture (2021) and Paramount’s feature Love and Monsters (2020) where she played the dual roles as the touching and humorous voice of the robot Mav1s and on camera survivor Kala, opposite Dylan O’Brien. Her television credits include NBC’s Young Rock, Foxtel / Showtime series The End, The Bureau Of Magical Things for Nickelodeon and Netflix and HBO’s feature film The Leisure Class (produced by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck). In 2021 Melanie was asked to read the audible version of ‘The Birds and the Bees’ a story created by the United Nations Development Program to facilitate children having ‘the talk’ with their parents about climate change. The book was shortlisted for a Cannes Lions Award.
  • Veronica Neave

    Veronica has worked extensively as an Actor, Dramaturge, Writer, Director and Physical Performer throughout Australia over the last 35 years, performing in major roles for all state theatre companies including over 33 shows for Queensland Theatre Company alone. For ten years Veronica collaborated with Kate Champion’s company, Force Majeure, performing/devising. Veronica has directed/devised and written shows for NIDA, The Australian Theatre for Young People and the Queensland Theatre Company. Veronica co-produced and wrote the ABC documentary Pieces Of Me and is a published author with a book of the same title. For three years Veronica held the position of Artistic Director of the Vulcana Women’s Circus. In 2019 Veronica completed her Churchill Fellowship specializing in Shakespeare’s verse. Veronica is now a Producer at the Brisbane Powerhouse. She has been a member of MEAA since 1988 and is on ehte National Performers Committee.
