Synopsis

An opportunity for the NSW industry to attend this In Conversation with industry drinks to follow. As an industry we all have a part to play in creating a culture of consent in which intimate stories can be told with safety and artistry. How do we make this possible and what role does the intimacy co-ordinator/director have in making this possible?  Alicia Rodis pioneered the role of intimacy coordinator in the United States. She serves as the intimacy coordinator for HBO studios, consulting on their policies and protocols as well as training and vetting the IC's working on HBO sets. Claire works as an intimacy coordinator on television networks, including HBO, Hulu, Amazon, Showtime, as well major motion picture studios such as Sony and 20th Century Fox. Claire made history as the first intimacy director on Broadway.  Join Alicia and Claire in conversation with director Neil Sharma as they explain their work and how it assists all artists to work consensually, bringing their whole selves to the work and honouring one another’s individual humanity.   During this session Alicia and Claire will explain the role of the intimacy co-ordinator; what it is and what it isn’t, what does it involve on a day-to-day basis, how do intimacy coordinators and directors actually make scenes safe and what are the training and skills requirements for those looking to become an intimacy coordinator or director.   Open to NSW MEAA members and non-members. Followed by industry networking drinks.   The Equity Foundation thanks Principal Sponsor Media Super for their support of this event.
