Synopsis

For performers, your body is your instrument. Due to the often high-pressure, high-stakes performing arts environment, performers have a unique challenge when facing injury and illness. Knowing how to access the right medical care when you need it can be challenging and confusing, especially when you’re in the middle of a contract, gig season or show run. In this talk, we'll break down the who, what, when and why of how to seek care for vocal and physical injuries, how to navigate ACC, the roles of different medical providers, and specialist referrals. This session will equip performers with the tools needed to advocate for your own health and wellbeing both on and off the stage.  Zoom link will be emailed two hours before workshop.
