Synopsis

Note: This is a two evening workshop (Mon 23rd & Tues 24th, 6pm-9.30pm each night). You must be able to attend both nights. There are strictly limited numbers of participants (for Equity NZ members only) and no observers this time. ****************************************************************************************   Experience how the Perdekamp Emotional Method (PEM) can revolutionize your acting craft and learn it's hallmark method for physical access to authentic emotion. Led by PEM Master Instructor Sarah Victoria, you will be taught how to physically access all six key emotions within PEM: Aggression, Happiness, Grief, Lust, Fear and Revulsion. Learn to come in and out of intense emotional states quickly, safely and repeatably without needing to refer to traumatic memories or personal story. The carefully developed, body- focused exercises will serve to open up your instrument and work through personal restrictions that may be limiting your full potential, enabling you to expand your emotional range and performance capability. Beyond the stage and screen, this holistic approach helps to reframe your understanding of emotions to not only refine your artistic skills, but also to improve your overall wellbeing. Workshop Overview:
  • Learn the hallmark method for physical access to authentic emotion
  • Tools and exercises to open up the body and expand emotional range
  • Move past personal limitations and restrictions that are inhibiting your full potential
  • Access subtle emotional expressions for close-ups and film work
  • Access big emotional expression for theatre and intense film scenes
  • Manage audition nerves and stage-fright
  • Reframe your understanding of what emotions are, and how this can help your profession
  • Develop your emotional intelligence and wellbeing
If this workshop is oversubscribed and we can not offer all applicants a place, or if the dates don't suit, there are also separate, paid PEM workshops being held in Wellington and Auckland that you can apply for. There is also a Level 2 workshop for actors who would like to deepen their PEM training. Further information and application details can be found here: https://pem-actingbykalliso.as.me/NewZealand
