Synopsis

A chance to work on your stand up comedy routine with stand up comedian, actor, improviser and voice over artist Rebecca De Unamuno. This will be a great session for those interested in pursuing a stand up career and a refresher for those already working in stand up. Please note: This event will take place from 12-1pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (QLD/VIC/NSW) and 2pm-3pm NZ time.

    Rebecca De Unamuno An acclaimed and experienced improviser and comedian, Rebecca De Unamuno has performed for the past 26 years at various venues and festivals throughout the world including Just for Laughs, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and New Zealand Fringe Festival. She has performed with accomplished improvisers around the world and has toured, multiple times, with Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander. Rebecca has appeared on a variety of popular Australian TV shows including Just for Laughs Australia, The Chaser’s War on Everything, Slideshow, CNNNN, Comedy Inc: The Late Shift, Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation, and Kath and Kim. On radio she has been a guest co-host on Triple M Breakfast, is a regular guest on Thank God It’s Friday (ABC Radio), ABC Radio Sydney Breakfast, ABC Radio Sydney Mornings, and in 2016 she joined the ABC Radio Sydney presenting team. She works extensively in the world of voice-overs, including on Happy Feet 2, working alongside Robin Williams, Sophia Vergara, Hank Azaria, and Elijah Wood. She is the audience warm-up for several popular Australian television shows, including Gruen, Question Everything and Australia Talks. Rebecca’s performances have earned her much critical acclaim. She was the recipient of the MICF Moosehead Award in 2005 and Pick of the Sydney Fringe in 2013. She received nominations for Best Comedy at the New Zealand Fringe Festival. Rebecca is a two-time Theatresports Cranston Cup Champion. She was a member of the Australian team which won the Improv World Cup at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and was the first woman in the history of the competition to be named Player of the Tournament.
